"Zeppo" – Surprise package of the Eid Baibalaa Challenge 1446!
Published on: 18 May 2025, 14:10
"Zeppo" – the young and energetic surprise package of the Eid Baibalaa Challenge 1446! In their debut tournament, they charged all the way to the Semi-Finals, making a powerful statement on the sand.
One of their biggest highlights? Defeating Club Teenage, the second most decorated team in Baibalaa history! Their defense was exceptional, managing to keep Baibalaa legends like British, Mr. Baibalaa 1429 Gabbu, and Rottey Ibuty etc.. on the sand.
They were only stopped by Lorenzo Sports Club by a masterclass performance by the legendary Mr. Baibalaa Abo, in a nail-biting penalty showdown.
This is just the beginning. We can't wait to see Team Zeppo come back even stronger next year. Good luck, Zeppo — the future of Baibalaa is bright!
Club Kaasinjee (CK): Knocking on the Door of Greatness
Published on: 12 May 2025, 22:58
Club Kaasinjee, known as "CK", has risen in recent years to become one of the most dominant and respected teams in the Baibalaa arena. Though a championship title has so far remained just out of reach, their unwavering dedication, elite preparation, and powerhouse roster have firmly established them as consistent top contenders.
Season after season, CK earns admiration for being one of the most well-prepared and strategically focused teams in the game. Their discipline and structure have shaped a squad that commands respect — one that no opponent takes lightly.
This year was no different. At the heart of their campaign were homegrown talents like Shammi, a dynamic and relentless attacker regarded as one of the finest in Baibalaa today, along with Estee, High, and their inspirational leader Bandu. This core reflects CK’s deep roots and their commitment to developing talent from within.
Backing them is a roster filled with Baibalaa icons — none greater than three-time Mr. Baibalaa, Aslam. His presence alone adds a championship aura to the team. Alongside him stand multi-time champions Ammadey, Shukoo, Twobe, and Hamdh — players with proven legacies who bring calm, power, and experience to the field.
Though CK narrowly missed out on glory — losing last year’s final to Buru Sports Club and this year’s semi-final to the eventual champions T.F.T — many believe these defeats were not due to CK underperforming, but rather the result of their opponents delivering exceptional, near-perfect performances. In a sport as intense and tactical as Baibalaa, such moments can be decisive.
Their fans continue to stand strong behind them. CK’s journey has been defined by heart, resilience, and an unshakeable desire to win. And as each year passes, that long-awaited title feels closer than ever.
To the warriors of Club Kaasinjee — your moment is coming. Maybe next year. Keep pushing. Keep believing. Baibalaa is ready for your triumph.

Legend of the Sand: Coach Hussain Yasir “Yaante” and His Unmatched Baibalaa Legacy
Published on: 07 May 2025, 21:42
In the rich and competitive world of Maldivian Baibalaa, few names command as much respect and admiration as Hussain Yasir, widely known as “Yaante.” With a coaching career spanning decades and a resume glittering with titles, Yaante has carved his name into the very foundation of the sport.
From his early days leading BG Sports Club to silver in 1425 (2004) and 1426 (2005), Yaante quickly made his mark as a tactician and motivator. Just a year later, he guided BG Sports Club to championship glory in 1427 (2006), beginning a legacy of consistent top-tier finishes. His journey continued with runner-up placements in 1428 (2007), followed by a resurgence years later with BG Sports Club's championship win in 1435 (2014).
But Yaante’s brilliance wasn’t confined to one club. His leadership brought Club Zefrol the championship in 1436 (2015), before he joined forces with Buru Sports Club, where he secured two major titles in 1439 (2018) and 1445 (2024). These victories solidified his reputation as one of the most successful and adaptable coaches in Baibalaa history.
The 1445 (2024) edition of the tournament was particularly special — not only did he lead Buru Sports Club to another championship, but he was also honored as Best Coach of the Tournament. That same year, his son Mirsal Yasir "Miru" earned the prestigious Mr. Baibalaa title, making it a landmark moment for the Yasir family.
Baibalaa is truly in their blood. Yaante’s other son, Mifrah Yasir "Foobe", is also a talented and promising player. With his father’s mentorship and his brother's inspiration, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Mifrah rise to claim the Mr. Baibalaa title in the future.
In a sport where strength, speed, and strategy collide in the sand, Yaante has proven that vision, leadership, and heart are just as vital. His journey is not just a story of wins and titles — it's a generational legacy still unfolding.
Ahmed Nasir "Naatte" – The Coach Who Builds Champions
Published on: 30th April 2025, 21:05
In the world of Baibalaa, there are few names as respected and revered as Ahmed Nasir, better known as "Naatte." His legacy isn’t just built on wins — it’s built on transformation, vision, and an unwavering belief in discipline and hard work.
Naatte's journey in Baibalaa began as a player, where he carved his name into history by winning back-to-back championships — first with Maziya Sports in 2000, and then with Club Teenage in 2001. But it was as a coach that he truly changed the game.
What sets Naatte apart isn’t just the number of titles he’s won, but how he’s won them. He doesn't chase glory with already established giants. Instead, he uplifts underdogs. He takes new teams — teams with heart — and shapes them into champions. His coaching career is a testament to this remarkable ability.
His last six titles are a story of belief and transformation:
Buru Sports Club (2007)
TC Sports Club (2011)
UN Friends (2013)
Kuda Henveiru United (2019)
Club O1O (2022) and
T.F.T (2025)
Each of these victories was historic — not only because they brought new names to the champion’s list, but because they were led by someone who saw potential in those teams.
According to Naatte, the secret to success is simple: discipline and hard work. It’s a principle he has passed on to every team he’s guided, and it’s what has made him not just a coach, but a mentor and inspiration to players across generations.
Despite all he has achieved, he shows no signs of slowing down. Teams still seek him out — not just for his tactical mind, but for the culture he instills. And as long as he’s coaching, we can expect more surprise champions, more emotional journeys, and more moments of magic.
Naatte also dreams of something bigger — to see Baibalaa reach beyond our borders, included in platforms like the SAFF tournaments and embraced across the region. With his passion and leadership, that dream doesn’t seem too far-fetched.
To the coach who never stops building champions — thank you, Naatte. The Baibalaa community stands with you, excited for whatever comes next.
Baibalaa: A Sport We Can Proudly Call Our Own
Published on: 28th April 2025, 22:35
Baibalaa is a sport deeply rooted in our heritage — a game we can truly call our own. It holds a special place in the hearts of Maldivians, with a rich history and a passionate following across the country. We should take pride in this unique sport, not only as a symbol of our culture but as something with the potential to reach far beyond our shores.
One of the main reasons behind launching this website was to introduce Baibalaa to a wider audience. I am happy to share that we have already seen some success in this mission. The website now has active users from countries such as the USA, Malaysia, India, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Thailand, and France. This growing international interest shows that there is potential for Baibalaa beyond our borders, and it encourages us to continue efforts to promote the sport internationally..
In my opinion, while we look to expand the sport, it is equally important to preserve its prestige locally. Currently, we have the Baibalaa Championship organized once every year during Eid by the Baibalaa Association of Maldives. I firmly believe that this championship should remain exclusive and be held only once a year. Much like the World Cup, the anticipation and rarity of the event add to its significance and excitement. Hosting it more frequently might dilute its impact and prestige.
However, to keep the spirit of Baibalaa alive year-round, there is room for other tournaments. These can include office tournaments, regional tournaments, or club tournaments — similar to the successful office tournament held in 2023. These events can be organized by other parties or organizations, who can affiliate with the Baibalaa Association of Maldives for support and collaboration in hosting them., while the main championship remains the pinnacle event organized solely by the Association once a year.
The future of Baibalaa is bright. With the right balance between preserving tradition and expanding our horizons, we can ensure that Baibalaa not only thrives in the Maldives but also finds its place on the global sporting stage.
This is my vision — one that I am passionate about — and I fully understand that others may have different opinions. But one thing is clear: Baibalaa is something we all can be proud of, and together, we can take it to new heights.
The Legends Beyond the Spotlight
Published on: 23rd April 2025, 22:21
In every sport, there are those whose names are etched in trophies and headlines — and then, there are those whose legacy lives quietly in the hearts of fans.
Baibalaa, with all its adrenaline, tradition, and honor, has always had room for both. While we celebrate the official winners, there are countless others who shaped the game in ways that can’t be defined by awards alone. The players who gave everything for their team, season after season. The coaches who showed up day in and day out, building discipline, belief, and unity. The athletes who may not have had the spotlight but left the ring with the respect of everyone watching.
They were the heartbeat of their teams — the first to step in, the last to give up. Their moves, their presence, their leadership — they created unforgettable moments and carried their squads through battles many would forget if not for their grit.
These are the legends beyond the spotlight. They may not be mentioned in every record book, but their impact is written into the soul of the game.
💬 Who do YOU remember?
We want to hear from you. Share with us the names and stories of those Baibalaa figures who inspired you, moved you, or made you love the game — even if they never stood on the top podium.
Your voice could help bring their story to the light.
TC Sports Club – A Legacy of Consistency, Passion, and Historic Impact
Published on: 10th April 2025, 23:58
In the rich history of Baibalaa, few names have echoed with as much consistency and resilience as Trust and Care Sports Club, better known as TC Sports Club. From the earliest days of the sport, TC Sports Club has remained a powerful presence, always among the top contenders, always fighting with heart.
In the early years, TC Sports Club often found themselves reaching the Quarter Final stage—always close, always strong, but unable to break through. That changed in 1427 (2006), when TC Sports made a statement. They stunned the tournament by defeating one of the top favourites, Maziya Sports Club, a team filled with legends like Ibrahim Shinaan "Naani" and Athiko. This was the turning point.
That year, TC Sports made it to the Semi Final for the first time. Although they narrowly lost in Gadha Hifun to BG New Generation, they still took home glory with Yameen Ibrahim "Yaambe" being crowned Mr Baibalaa of that edition—a moment of pride that marked TC’s rise.
From there, TC Sports entered their golden era, becoming regular semi-finalists and reaching their peak between 2011 and 2013, when they made three consecutive finals. In 1432 (2011), they finally lifted the trophy, being crowned champions of the tournament. The following two years, they remained just a step away, finishing as runners-up in both 2012 and 2013.
But TC Sports is not just a Baibalaa powerhouse—they are a true multi-sport club. As their success in Baibalaa grew, they also turned their focus to football. In 2014, TC Sports earned promotion to the First Division, and what followed was nothing short of remarkable. They won the Dhivehi Premier League, and went on to become the first Maldivian club to win an international trophy by lifting the Sheikh Kamal International Cup.
Despite their football success, TC Sports never left Baibalaa behind. They continued to reach the quarter-finals and semi-finals, proving their strength year after year. In Eid Baibalaa Challenge 1446, they once again made it to the quarter-final stage, only to be stopped by the eventual champions, T.F.T.
And their legacy goes even deeper. This year’s champion team T.F.T included two standout players who are originally from TC Sports Club:
Hassan Thauheed "Thau", the Man of the Match in the final.
Mohamed Ikram "Kuda Ikko", another key figure in the T.F.T squad.
These contributions show that TC Sports Club's impact extends beyond just their own results—their influence is felt across teams and generations.
TC Sports Club may not have lifted another Baibalaa trophy in recent years, but their name remains etched in the history of the sport. Their discipline, their dedication, and the athletes they continue to produce make them a cornerstone of the Baibalaa community.
We wish TC Sports Club continued success in both Baibalaa and football. A club of champions, a club of legacy, and always a team to watch.

Abo first claimed the prestigious title in 1433 (2012), announcing himself as a powerful and strategic force on the field. He reclaimed the honor again in 1436 (2015), further proving that his skills, consistency, and leadership were no fluke.
Now, in 1446 (2025), a decade after his first win, Abo proves he still stands tall among the best. Representing Lorenzo Sports Club in a historic final, Abo not only helped guide his team to their first-ever final appearance but also showcased individual brilliance throughout the tournament that ultimately earned him this elite recognition.
The Elite Club of 3-Time Mr. Baibalaa Winners

Abo joins Mohamed Shinan “Naani” and Aslam Waheed as the only three players in Baibalaa history to have reached this milestone — true icons who have elevated the game to new heights with their talent and dedication.
Each of them dominated different eras, but the spirit, discipline, and fearlessness they brought to the field bind them in a shared legacy.
What’s Next for Abo?
Now tied for the most Mr. Baibalaa titles in history, the question naturally arises — will Abo break the record and stand alone with four titles in the future? Only time will tell. Among the top contenders are three powerhouses who have already etched their names in the history books — and they’re all back to fight for glory once again.

Club Teenage has claimed four Baibalaa Championship titles, securing victories in 1422 (2001), 1425 (2004), 1438 (2017), and most recently, in 1444 (2023). In addition to their championship triumphs, they also finished as runners-up in 1443 (2022), further proving their status as an elite club in the sport.
Beyond their titles, Club Teenage has played a crucial role in shaping the future of Baibalaa. The club has produced three Mr. Baibalaa winners, a testament to the exceptional players they have nurtured over the years. Their roster has always been stacked with top-tier athletes, many of whom have become synonymous with the club’s identity.
From the very beginning of competitive Baibalaa, Club Teenage has been a permanent fixture at the top. Barring a few rare instances, they have consistently reached the semi-finals, showcasing their ability to perform under pressure and maintain high standards year after year.
As the latest edition of the Baibalaa Championship kicks off, Club Teenage once again finds itself in a strong position to challenge for the title. The tournament draw has worked in their favor, with many of the biggest contenders—Buru Sports Club, TC Sports Club, Kuda Henveiru United, BG Sports Club, and Odi Sports Club—placed on the other side of the bracket. This gives them a clear path to yet another final, though challenges still remain.
With their winning mentality, star-studded lineup, and unwavering determination, Club Teenage is well-positioned to add another championship to their name.
Good luck, Club Teenage!

Club Zefrol: The Factory of Mr. Baibalaa
Published on: 29th March 2025, 11:44
When discussing the greatest teams in Baibalaa history, Club Zefrol holds a special place. With two championships and four runner-up finishes, the club has consistently been a dominant force in the sport. However, what truly sets Club Zefrol apart is its ability to produce legendary players—earning them the title of "The Mr. Baibalaa Machine."
Club Zefrol has lifted the Baibalaa Championship trophy twice:
1424 (2003) 🏆
1436 (2015) 🏆
Additionally, they finished as runners-up four times, proving their long-standing consistency and competitiveness:
1423 (2002) 🥈
1431 (2010) 🥈
1432 (2011) 🥈
1435 (2014) 🥈
Club Zefrol has produced more Mr. Baibalaa winners than any other team—a total of five players:
1️⃣ 1423 (2002) – Asham
2️⃣ 1424 (2003) – Mode "Varukandhu"
3️⃣ 1425 (2004) – Hussain Shimaz "Kokky"
4️⃣ 1432 (2011) – Ali Wijhan "Viju"
5️⃣ 1436 (2015) – Abdulla Nishan "Abo"
This dominance in producing elite-level talent is what truly defines Club Zefrol. Their players are not just stars within their own team—they become sought-after assets across all of Baibalaa.
In recent years, Club Zefrol's best players have been playing for other teams, contributing to their success. A clear example of this was Baibalaa 2019, where the two finalist teams—Kuda Henveiru United and VK Sports Club—both had key players from Club Zefrol.
This trend has impacted the club’s dominance, as their name hasn’t been at the top lately. But the spirit of Club Zefrol lives on in its players, who continue to shape the sport at the highest level.
Though they may not always be in the finals, Club Zefrol’s legacy is stronger than ever. The club has not only built champions but has also shaped the very foundation of Baibalaa itself. With a rich history, a roster full of legends, and a reputation for producing the best, Club Zefrol will always be remembered as the ultimate Mr. Baibalaa machine. 🔥💪

One of the greatest displays of their strength came in 1427 (2006), when both finalists were BG teams—BG Sports Club and their younger squad, BG New Generation. This moment solidified their legacy, proving that BG wasn't just a team but a Baibalaa powerhouse.
Beyond their official titles, BG’s impact extends even further, as many of their players have won championships while playing for other teams. Their influence on Baibalaa is undeniable, and their contribution to the sport demands the utmost respect.

Who is the True King of Baibalaa?
Published on: 25th March 2025, 23:06
Baibalaa has always been one of the most intense and celebrated sports in the Maldives. Over the years, many
legendary players have dominated the game, securing multiple championships and etching their names in Baibalaa history.
But one question remains unanswered: Who has won the most Baibalaa championships?
Many associate greatness in Baibalaa with the prestigious "Mr. Baibalaa" title, awarded to the best
individual player in a tournament. However, this doesn’t necessarily indicate who has been part of the most
championship-winning teams.
Unfortunately, there is no easily accessible record tracking the player with the most championships. Unlike
some other sports that maintain detailed player statistics, Baibalaa history has largely been undocumented in this
regard. So, how can we find out? Would it be possible to go through past tournament records and identify common
players among winning teams? Could longtime players, teams, or Baibalaa organizers help piece together this history?
This has been a long-standing curiosity, and it would be exciting to uncover the answer. If anyone has insights,
records, or suggestions on how we can determine the true king of Baibalaa, let’s start the discussion and solve
this mystery together!
